MISTED MOTHER’S DAY DAISIES

1 / 8

What happens when you love photography and flowers and your sweet sister gives you a beautiful bouquet of daisies for Mother’s Day? A light bulb goes off in your head and you take tons of pictures of the daisies before their beauty fades away and they die, that’s what! Above you will see just two of the many pictures that I took. (Look closely at the second picture and you will see a water droplet reflecting one of the daisies).

I couldn’t afford — or justify — spending so much money on the amazing Sony FE 90mm f2.8 macro lens, but after watching a few reviews on the less powerful, but much more affordable Sony 30mm f3.5 macro lens, I decided to use my rewards that were soon to expire and purchased it on sale at the end of March (and took advantage of their six month payment plan) and delved into the exciting world of macro photography! (I posted some reviews of this macro lens below, if you’re interested, and one of the Sony 90mm, as well).

Speaking of the beauty of flowers fading away, many of us focus too much on our outward, physical appearance and ignore the fact that all of us are growing older by the day and our beauty is also fading away. We are all drawing nearer and nearer to the end of our physical lives and don’t like thinking about the fact that one day we too will fade away and die, and step out into eternity. When your life comes to an end do you have the assurance that you will be in heaven? Is your trust in your good works or your religion? Are you one of the many who (wrongly) believe that heaven and hell do not exist? Or did you come to the understanding of the fact that all of us are sinners in need of a Savior and therefore made the life-altering decision to put your complete trust in all that Jesus Christ has done for you when He willingly gave His life in your place (and in mine) on the cross, and that He was buried and arose from the dead on the third day? Our eternal destiny truly depends upon if we believe the Biblical gospel and if we have placed our trust in Jesus Christ alone, or not.

RELATED SCRIPTURES

“Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give  you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

“And [Abraham] being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification.” (Romans 4:21-25) [Abraham was inserted by me for context.]

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1,2)

“Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also.” (Romans 3:20-29)

“I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” (Galatians 2:21)

“Beware lest any man spoil you through through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” (Colossians 2:8)

“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a  little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live and do this, or that.” (James 4:15)

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matthew 7:22,23)

“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” (Matthew 25:41)

“We accept man’s testimony, but God’s testimony is greater. because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:9-13)

“The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” (1 John 3:35,36)
