Macro photography has a unique and amazing way of showing us the beauty in even just what some may call a common flower — a carnation. That’s what I noticed yesterday as I was taking photos of some flowers that I purchased over two weeks ago at Trader Joe’s for only $3.99 a bunch. Since I have already done a lot of spring cleaning and some writing, as well, I decided to buy some flowers so that I could take pictures of them in order to do something else constructive to pass the time while we are in lockdown during this stay-at-home order because of what is referred to as the #coronavirus pandemic. (For some encouraging news that helps us think about this situation using our critical thinking skills, read this article). At first glance these tiny carnations almost looked like roses or peonies to me! God truly has created so many beautiful things for us to behold and to show forth His glory!
I hope you enjoy looking at these photos as you are also in #StayAtHomeLockdown. I pray that God will use His Word that I added to these pictures to bring you hope and comfort and to draw you to Himself during this time of uncertainty when undue fear and panic are causing many to lose hope. Instead of giving into fear turn to the Lord and read His Word for truth, encouragement, comfort, peace, and wisdom. Many years ago, in the midst of a very difficult time in my life, God used His Word to reveal His truth to me, to give me hope at a point in time where I had no hope at all, and my life has never been the same since!
In spite of the many heartaches that come to us as we walk down this road called life, if you will choose to turn to Jesus Christ He will truly reveal His love and truth to you through His Word, forgive you of your sins, failures, and regrets, heal you from past hurts, and give you hope for your future and for eternity, as well! I encourage you to start reading in the Gospel of John, the Book of Romans, as well as Ephesians, Galatians, Colossians, and Hebrews –especially Chapters 7 through 10.
