Here is a sneak peek at a small portion of the wet results of today’s fluid acrylic painting. #33 ‘PATHWAY INTO THE SEA’
Here are the dry results! [NOTE: This painting sold at my very first art exhibit at North School Park in Arlington Heights, IL on August 28th 2022!]
STORY BEHIND THE NAME:
As I stared at my painting trying to think of an appropriate name for it, I turned the canvas and saw what seemed to look like a pathway into the sea, so I thought that would be a very fitting title for it! That also brought to mind the account in the Bible where God parted the sea through Moses as he stretched out his hand over the sea:
“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.” (Read Exodus Chapter 14).
I also found this passage of Scripture after doing a Bible word search for pathway:
“Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God? Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people. Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah. The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled. The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad. The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook. Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known. Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.” (Psalm 77:13-20)
Technique: Open cup pour
This was the second technique that I tried to test Artist’s Loft Ready Mixed Pouring Paints. They worked really well for this #opencuppour I really like these paints and was amazed and delighted at the results of this fluid painting!
Paints used: #Artistsloft Ready-Mixed Pouring Paints in: #PhthaloBlue #MetallicWhite, #MetallicGold & #MetallicCopper The Metallic Copper was the only paint that was rather thick and therefore needed to be mixed with #liquitex #pouringmedium to thin to the same consistency as the other paints.
